Horniman Museum & Gardens
The Horniman Museum and Gardens in Forest Hill, South London, sits within 16 acres of award winning landscaped gardens with breath taking views across the city skyline.
The Horniman is home to three unique spaces available for private hire. An elegant Victorian Grade II listed Conservatory, an Edwardian Grade II listed Bandstand, and a sleek contemporary Pavilion. The Museum itself houses internationally important collections of anthropology and musical instruments, a fascinating Natural History Gallery and an acclaimed Aquarium. The recent addition of a Butterfly House makes the Horniman a truly unique and inspiring destination.
The elegant Grade II listed Victorian Conservatory provides a large, bright, open space that is perfect for weddings, receptions and other special occasions. The cast iron and glass structure was originally built by the Horniman family in 1894 and has recently been enhanced with modern interior lighting and heating underneath a beautiful new tiled floor. The Conservatory stands within a stylish private terrace next to the Museum with easy access to the Gardens.
The Bandstand is a totally unique feature of the Gardens with unparalleled views over all of London, from Wembley Stadium all the way to Canary Wharf. Perfect for small, intimate occasions, summer drinks receptions, or photo shoots. Recently refurbished with all original Victorian features, the Bandstand offers a picturesque snapshot of a bygone era. Enjoy stunning views across the skyline featuring London landmarks to one side and our beautiful Gardens to the other.
Set within 16 acres of landscaped gardens, the Pavilion is a calm and peaceful contemporary venue. It is a bright and airy space with floor to ceiling windows which fold back to give full access to a large private terrace overlooking the London skyline. Situated in a quiet corner of the Gardens, the Pavilion has hilltop views across the Horniman’s landscaped Gardens and a unique view of the Animal Walk. Like all our spaces, it is just a short train journey from the city. The Pavilion makes an idyllic space for a corporate away day, children’s party, contemporary wedding or summer drinks reception.
