Hall Place Bexley
Heritage Hospitality at Hall Place
Hall Place is a fine Grade I listed country house built in 1537 for Sir John Champneys a wealthy merchant and former Lord Mayor of London. A rare example of its type, much of the house that John built still survives today.Hall Place offers a unique and memorable venue for private hire. As well as being the perfect wedding venue, the newly restored house and landscaped gardens make a wonderful setting for any gathering, whether for business or pleasure.
We offer a wide choice of rooms for corporate hire. Ranging from the Great Hall which can seat up to 140 theatre style, to Lady Limerick’s Room which can accommodate up to fifteen delegates in panelled splendour overlooking the topiary lawn.
Upstairs, the Great Chamber with its magnificent plaster ceiling and the adjoining long gallery make a good space for around 50 people to meet and have refreshments, again with stunning views over the gardens. In the visitor centre our new meeting room looks out onto the house and has easy access to the riverside tea room.
Hall Place is a popular choice for those looking for somewhere special to celebrate: anything from a silver or golden wedding anniversary, a baby’s naming ceremony to engagements and milestone birthdays. Our welcoming staff will make sure everything runs smoothly and your guests have a wonderful time. The private gardens off the Great Hall are a wonderful place for drinks on a summer’s afternoon, and we can make any size of party feel at home, and living like lords for the day.
Our Riverside Cafe and in house caterers can provide all refreshments, from tea and coffee to a delicious lunch or din
