Here at Maidens Barn we have the space and facilities to cater for your entire day – from preparation right through to a secret bridal Hideaway Cottage – perfect for your first night as ‘Mr and Mrs’. We are licensed for civil wedding ceremonies inside the stunning new Oak Barn and of course, for outdoor weddings in the garden underneath the flowering wedding arbour.

Civil Wedding Ceremonies are perfect for couples who want to celebrate their entire wedding in one venue and who are more modern and secular in their views. A civil wedding also allows you to personalise your ceremony within the legal framework.

It’s a great idea to include readings, songs or music, especially to include your special guests. Just remember not to include anything that’s religious – eg hymns or readings from the Bible. Remember to discuss your requirements with the registrar to make sure your wedding ceremony will comply legally.

The stunning new Oak Barn provides the perfect setting for both intimate weddings in Essex as well as larger wedding celebrations, easily seating up to 200 people if necessary. Chairs can be arranged with 6 on each side of the aisle in a traditional format or in a more relaxed curve if you prefer.

The simple space within the Oak Barn has a high beamed roof, and with the picture window offers a magnificent space for wedding ceremonies.  The numerous French doors open out onto the courtyard allowing the outside, in! Again, this space can be adapted perfectly for intimate weddings or larger wedding ceremonies – the choice is yours. Guests can be seated facing the picture windows in various configurations (depending on your numbers) and all looking out onto the ancient Oak Tree in the Bridal garden.

This is a warm and intimate wedding ceremony venue, providing a blank canvas for you to decorate. Rustic arches and terracotta flower pots work well within this space but so do white aisle runners and modern pedestals.

Perfect for a truly English summer wedding ceremony. The flowering arbour in the midst of the specially designed garden provides a romantic and enchantingly beautiful spot for a very memorable outdoor wedding ceremony in this Essex venue with views over the open countryside.

Outside seating can be provided for up to 200 guests and seating can be arranged in rows of 5/6 chairs on each side of the aisle. An outside garden wedding ceremony is only possible if it is not raining! We will keep a close watch on the forecasted weather in the week leading up to your wedding but a final decision will be made at 8am on the morning of the big day.

 

 

Situated with easy access to London and close to both Chelmsford and Braintree in Essex. Only 14 minutes drive from Stansted Airport, 20 minutes from Chelmsford and Braintree and an easy 1hr20 minutes from London.
