Weddings and Civil Ceremonies

Old Brook Barn is licensed for Civil marriages and Partnerships in our beautiful barn and outside under our fabulous painted Gazebo. For smaller, more intimate ceremonies, we can accommodate (seated) up to 100+ guests in the old barn, and up to 100+ guests in the upstairs Minstrels Gallery. An outside ceremony in our Secret Garden will seat up to 150 guests.

Old Brook Barn also welcomes Humanist Weddings, Naming Ceremonies, Renewal of Vows and Blessings.

If you are having a Church wedding, St. Thomas the Apostle Church in the parish of Navestock is only 2 miles from Old Brook Barn. The church, which dates from the 11th or 12th century, consists of one of the notable timber towers of Essex.

In 2008 the rules on getting married in a particular church were simplified. Anyone who lives in, or has a family link to the parish can marry at Navestock Church. For those living outside the area it is possible to marry there if you attend the Church regularly (at least once a month) usually for about 6 months.

The Church has a large car park, toilets in the church hall and extensive grounds where photographs can be taken.

 We are also located only 2.2 miles from St. John’s Church, Havering-atte-Bower and 4.9 miles from St Peter’s Church, South Weald.

Exclusively yours to enjoy with the natural brook, decking area, willow trees and meadow fields, you could not wish for a more idyllic setting on your special day. For the enjoyment of your guests reception drinks can be enjoyed on the lawn area under the willow trees, the secret garden, the courtyard

Within the barn itself there is a lovely reception and bar area, together with a south facing decked terrace and upstairs balcony which has breathtaking views across open fields. From here you can watch the horses graze and the sunset on a beautiful summers evening.

Personal Touch!

Because we are a boutique wedding venue we host a limited amount of weddings per year. You will have access to the barn from 9:00am the day before your wedding to setup and decorate and go over any final details with the team. This gives you the freedom to decorate the barn with those personal details that will make your wedding day stand out from the rest!
