Spains Hall is an idyllic year round venue for your special day, providing you the history and romance of a country estate with the modern facilities that you require to make your special day absolutely perfect.

Spains Hall is located just outside the popular picturesque village of Finchingfield on the North Essex / Cambridgeshire Border.

Ceremony

The magnificent Elizabethan Hall within Spains Hall can seat up to 100 guests for your ceremony, while the Drawing Room and Dining Room are both available for smaller ceremonies.  The rooms are decorated with family antiques, paintings and attributes which create a romantic setting. The historic summer house is available for your outdoor ceremony should you wish to get married in the beautiful rose garden.  The 19th century Coach House within the converted stables is also available as an alternative ceremony room for up to 84 seated guests.  All ceremony rooms have a state-of-the-art music system, creating a warm atmosphere which is unique and personal to you on your special day.

Drinks will then be served to you and your guests in one of the many beautiful rooms in Spains Hall itself including the Drawing Room and Dining Room. The Drawing Room overlooks the stunning formal gardens which include the majestic cedar tree, overlooking the lake beyond. Your guests are free to wander the gardens exclusively which provide beautiful backdrops for your everlasting memories and photographs.
Spains Hall is a lovely, cosy and warm intimate venue for winter wedding receptions also, the Drawing Room can provide a roaring log fire which ensures your guests feel right at home.

Reception

The Stables complex, complete with modern, state of the art facilities, combines the old and new perfectly. The Dovecote, Coach House and Loose Boxes are all available for your use exclusively on your wedding day, providing you with a variety of space and freedom to create your special day as you wish. Our beautiful terrace is perfect for an extra break out area for the evening with illuminated parasols that provide heat for the cooler evenings. The Main Hall within the Stables is where your wedding breakfast will be held.  It is a comfortable, inviting space, which can be treated as a blank canvas for you to let your imagination run wild. You and your guests will sample exquisite food and drink from our caterers during dinner. After speeches, your guests have the Loose Boxes to retire to should they want to rest, the Main Hall then provides ample space for your festivities and our in-house DJ will ensure that your guests are dancing all night!

South of Cambridge and just 45 minutes from London Spains Hall is located immediately north of Finchingfield – a village often described as one of the most beautiful in the country!

Take Junction 8A (Stansted Airport) on M11 A120(E) towards Stansted Airport and Colchester. Follow the A120 past Stansted Airport. Take next off A120 (B1256) Gt. Dunmow. Follow road to Gt. Dunmow.

At edge of Gt. Dunmow (with Tescos on the left hand side), go straight over the roundabout. At the next roundabout take the first left into Gt. Dunmow. At the next mini-roundabout take a left turn onto B184 (Thaxted) along Rosemary Lane.

At the bottom of the hill take left at the mini-rounabout (B184) Thaxted. First right onto B1057 Gt. Bardfield and Finchingfield. Follow the road to Gt. Bardfield (6 miles). Into Gt. Bardfield follow on to T junction. Take left turn signposted Finchingfield. Follow this road for two miles into Finchingfield.

In Finchingfield, go over the bridge and immediately turn left. Take the next road on the left. Follow road out of the village for approx. one mile. The Main Entrance is on the right hand side.
