At The Shire, there is no such things as a Wedding Day or Functions Package. We offer the facilities, resources and capability to deliver a day to your own, individual specification. Through experience, we have plenty of ideas and suggestions to make.

your own, individual specification. Through experience, we have
plenty of ideas and suggestions to make.
But ultimately, we want it to be your day and we will be as helpful
and flexible as we can to ensure it will be as memorable as you
could wish it to be.

Weddings and functions at The Shire
The Shire is the perfect venue for your Wedding Day.
The Shire can accomodate 150 guests at table or 200 for a buffet
function in a delightful, self-contained Suite with its own bar and
entrance. For weddings The Shire has a licence to hold your
Marriage Ceremony in a private room which can accommodate up
to 80 of your family and friends.
There are beautiful views across the splendid Seve Master Golf
Course, an ideal backdrop for your photographs and a superb
location for outdoor refreshments.

Menus to suit your taste
Rather than offering set menus we prefer to work with you
to design a menu that suits your particular tastes.
We will make suggestions which can include a variety of
vegetarian and ethnic options.
When it comes to finalising the details of the day, we offer you
the opportunity of sampling the dishes that you have specified
to ensure you are entirely happy with your selections. 
 

Reserving your day
An early reservation is recommended to ensure your
wedding or function takes place on the day of your choice.
If available, we will hold this date provisionally until you have had
time to view our facilities, discuss your menu requirements and
format for the day and agree a basic price. You will then be asked
to sign a contract and pay a deposit. Once completed, you can
relax in the knowledge that your booking is secure.

Finalising the details

About 6 weeks prior to the event we will arrange a meeting with
you to finalise details. It will also be an opportunity for
you to sample your menu selections.

Civil Weddings at The Shire

The Shire holds a Civil Wedding Licence, enabling your Wedding
Ceremony to be in the same location as your Reception.
It’s a great convenience for you and your guests, with ample car
parking space to make transport easy.
We will explain how the Ceremony should be arranged, the
conditions that apply and the fees that the Registrar will charge.
We will also supply you with contact details of the Registrar so that
you can confirm availability and book an appropriate time.

Flowers

We can suggest a number of different flower arrangements for the
room in which your Ceremony will be held and in the Suite where
your Reception will take place (including table decorations).
Bouquets and buttonholes can also be provided

Table Plans and Cards

We will suggest a table layout to suit the number of guests you
have invited.

Our course is set on the border of London and the Hertfordshire Green Belt countryside, on the outskirts of Barnet. 

We are a 2 minute drive from junction 23 of the M25 (A1/M25 interchange on the A1081).
